Alexander Spraggs

ASSOCIATE

Alex is an associate at Pihl Law Corporation primarily practicing construction and commercial litigation. He regularly acts on behalf of contractors and trades in relation to liens, payment and bonding disputes and insurance coverage claims.

From the outset of a dispute, Alex strategically positions his clients for success at trial. This trial-oriented approach maximizes negotiation leverage for clients and empowers them to achieve successful negotiated resolutions.

When negotiating a settlement is out of reach, Alex fiercely advocates for his clients eager to champion their causes before the court. He has represented clients before the British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Cour supérieure du Québec.

Alex is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law where he obtained his Bachelor of Common Law (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) degrees. He represented McGill in Vienna, Austria at the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot receiving honourable mention for best oralist.

Alex began his legal career at a Seven Sister firm in Montreal, after which he practiced at a national firm in Vancouver. In March, 2022 Alex moved to Kelowna and joined Pihl Law Corporation.

When not in the office you will find Alex skiing, camping and exploring British Columbia with Aspen, his Bernese Mountain Dog.
