Emily Bowen

B.Mgt. (Hons.), J.D.

Emily Bowen is an associate practicing primarily in commercial and civil litigation, as well as employment law.

Emily grew up in Penticton and attended the University of British Columbia (Okanagan) where she graduated with her Bachelor of Management with honours, and a minor in psychology. She then headed to the east coast where she attended Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law to complete her Juris Doctor.

During law school, Emily volunteered with Pro Bono Dalhousie and worked with the Access to Justice & Law Reform Institute of Nova Scotia and the National Self Represented Litigants Project - East. She also volunteered as an advocate with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service. While in her final year of law school, Emily had the opportunity to work with the legal services team for Nova Scotia Health in a placement program. Upon graduating, she received the Robert G. Elgie Health Law and Policy Award.

Despite making the move to Halifax for law school, Emily hoped to eventually return to the Okanagan and build her practice in the area she grew up. Emily joined Pihl Law as a summer student in 2023 and then completed her articles with the firm following her graduation from law school in 2024. After being called to the bar in 2025, she joined Pihl Law as an associate.

Emily continues to grow her practice in the general civil, and commercial litigation, as well as employment law. She enjoys assisting businesses and individuals navigating complex circumstances and works to push matters towards practical solutions.

Outside the office, Emily enjoys spending her free time outdoors, skiing, hiking, and paddle-boarding. She also loves to travel - her favourite place she has visited is South Africa or Greece!
